About Me

David Crowley is currently a lecturer in the Computing, Creative Media & Information Technology Dept in the Institute of Technology, Tralee. His main teaching area is in Mobile Application Design and Development. Other areas of teaching include Web Development, Sensor Technology, and Emerging Technology,  and Research Methods . He also currently supervises MA in Creative Media students along with final year projects for Music Technology, Interactive Multimedia, and TV, Radio, and New Media Broadcasting students.

David Crowley is also currently a PhD Candidate at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics (formerly DERI – Digital Enterprise Research Institute)NUI Galway School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He holds a Certificate in Mechtronics from Institute of Technology, Tralee, a BA in Mathematics and Information Technology from NUI Galway, and an MSc in Interactive Media from University College Cork. His PhD research focuses on human in the loop sensing, citizen actuation, and using game elements/feedback to improve these processes.

PhD supervisor is Dr. John Breslin. David is also a member of the Social Software Unit (USS) in DERI.
